On the 26th day of January 2017, I sat in the interview room waiting to meet the CEO for a job interview.
I crossed my right leg over my left one, glancing at the clock, and I felt I had waited too long. This CEO was look for a great female for the Human Resource for one of his companies in town and I felt I would fit such a job.
Clutching my file with my hands, I waited for my turn to go into the CEO’s office for my interview. But as I looked around me, taking note of nearly fifty women sitting waiting for their turns, I knew it was going to be a long time before I was allowed to go in, which didn’t help lessen my anxiety in the least.
I needed to get this interview over with as soon as possible, so I could run home to attend to my sick little brother.
The door of the CEO’s office opened and a woman with blonde hair exited crying her eyes out. Her tears were running down in thin, black streams while her gray eyes were bloodshot. Omwana nga akaaba nyoo. Without saying a word, the woman stormed towards the open door, run down the stairs and her existence vanished as the doors closed.
“Number twenty-seven, Ms. Nakigudde, the CEO will see you now,” the lady at the reception said in a monotone.
A lady with jet black hair with brown eyes stood up gracefully and smoothed her already smooth pink dress. Pasting on a seductive smile, she confidently sashayed inside the office. I didn’t understand how she was not freezing in that flimsy dress?
My confidence faltered for the twenty seventh time as I saw yet another beautiful woman go for her interview. Even though I had absolutely zero interest in the job, I was interested in what he was offering. Money.
Lets call him Mr. X, the rich tycoon. This Tycoon owned the country’s biggest business empire, and was the very definition of rich, he was practically royalty. There was nothing in this country that the man couldn’t buy. He owns five successful companies and was planning on held shares in several others; He had been named among the country’s top 10 Rich people by snoops, something I got to know after doing some background research.
But what did a man his calibre really want in a woman to do this job. What other things did the job entail? What was hidden behind the job ad and the interviews?
Was I missing something I didn’t know or see? I was determined to find out. Fate would uphold anyway.
There were numerous rumors about him being a ritualist (Omulogo) and my heart would pound at every thought of it. It was my turn and ……..
